"Six Days" - Introduction


       I used to believe that your life was whatever you made of it; an endless realm of choices and dreams all within your grasp, and that if you wanted something bad enough it was yours for the taking. I thought that no matter what life through at you or whoever got in your way, that if you were willing that you could make it through it all. Now I know that’s not true.

       Six days ago I thought my life belonged to me, six days ago I was a fool. It’s amazing how much havoc one rainstorm can cause in your life, and how one moment can tear apart everything you believed. Six days ago I was jogging home from the gym. The place I go every Tuesday to play racquetball with some friends from work, and help dissolve the tensions of a new work week. Six days ago I was coming home from my gym, when it started to poor down rain.
