of Course the Grass is Greener When you Paint it!

Ok, here's the deal. Lets say there is something in your life that you want. No, take that back. Suppose there is a gap in your life that's has to be filled. You may have filled it before, but for whatever reason you broke it, abused it, or made it run away. Well like most mortals you go out and get a quick fix till the next best thing comes along and your wounds are healed. By now you are wondering what I am going on about, well, most of man and womankind have fooled themselves into thinking that something is soo important that they must have it at all cost. For whatever reason these fools will plunder the earth, rob the masses, and destroy anything in their way just to get this object. The only reason being that they saw someone else who had it and now they must as well. And whenever it goes out of style, or something better comes along, it is put into their skeleton closet as a permenate spider hotel, occasionally dusted off and drug out for a Holiday center piece and then restored to it's mind set pedestal. This is simply because once you have that impossible goal, it isn't as sweet. That's all good and well, but not everyone is so lucky. There are some people whom may not have this regenerative gene. A gene I have dubbed the "Grass is Greener" gene. What about them? These people may want the same things, but not everyone can have them. Its simple supply and demand. Granted, an equilibrium of life would be a great thing, but lets face it, ain't gonna happen. So, we go back to the Genetic Makeup of people. Who gets what, is determined by who has what. Strength and power are most important. Since the dawn of competition this rule has been true. So we all know the strong can get what they want, but what happens to it after they have it? They don't want it anymore. So, these morons drain the supply and the ones who would really cherish it are once again left empty handed. So, now that I have drilled this concept into your mind, and explained the simple rules of the jungle, what if.... What if you could change your genetic makeup, or at least add to it? It's not out of your reach. Lets backup to the supply and demand again. Opportunity is the first key. That is really the only thing both sides have equally. The chance to grab the object of their desire. So, what stops those poor individuals lacking the "grass is greener" gene? It is themselves which stops them. Yes, that's right, the thought that the object might get outdated to them scares them. They cannot bare living without something to fix their attentions to. So, they go through life wondering what it would have been like. Well, lets say they could have their cake, and eat it too. Its as simple as going down to your hardware store and racking up on the green lead paint. Cover yourself with it, take a shower, and go out with the new knowledge that the "green" gene has bleed through your skin and into your bloodstream. Or, simply realize that it is just a state of mind. There is no "green" gene, or a "jerk" gene for that matter, but just a state of mind. Go for it, you have the same opportunity, take it. It doesn't always turn out the way you want, but it's better than wondering what if. And if you do tire of it, that's ok too. That just means there is something better, but eventually you will find perfection, and you will never grow tired of it. So, I know it is easier in writing than in life, but the greater the risk, the sweeter the rewards. (and take the subway, it's just faster) I know not everyone falls perfectly into these two models, but for the most part the same basic rules apply. For those of you whom had it all and lost it, or almost had it and let it get away. The only advice is stop trying to forget, and buy yourself some green lead paint. Because if that's what it takes to make you happy, smother yourself in it and gimme a call, Ill be right over to help get the hard to reach places...
