Orly (Deja Vu)

Sitting on the beach with your body in my arms,
I was watching you try to analyze the world.
Your breath tasted of Riddilin, your eyes were full of stars,
and holding your hand made the moment stand still.
While sitting with you there, our feet in the sand,
you said you had been through all this before.
Known the pain of loss, seen the world,
and stopped believing in love anymore.

And I can’t help but feel
that we’ve been down this road before.
This is déjà vu all over again.
Is this déjà vu all over again?

You don’t seem to understand,
how people can put their love in you,
it’s simply because magic and romance
mean the same thing to you.

But I can’t help but feel
that we’ve been through this before.
This is déjà vu all over again.
Is this déjà vu all over again?

You know what is right, and I want what is wrong,
and that’s why we do the things we do.
Everyday we make the same wrong choices,
telling ourselves we’ll fix it someday soon.
You sit in the dark, crying into your hands,
while rubbing your foot against mine.
You say it’s nothing new, like other times before.
You and I go through this all the time.

You looked in my eyes
and cried when you said,
This is déjà vu all over again.
Is this déjà vu all over again?

So I’ll just sit here alone,
and write a sad story for you.
About how love and circumstance
will never work for you.

You grabbed my hand, gently squeezed,
and told me never to let go.
This is déjà vu all over again.
Is this déjà vu all over again?
